We're open! I'll be here now from 11 am to 5:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. That is unless I am out of town for a yarn/knitting/conference. I'll keep the Fiber Rhythm calendar up to date... We've also scheduled a Saturday meetup, so if you're in the Portland area-- stop by! We meet from 3pm to 5-ish and have free coffee and tea. BYOP (bring your own project) or you can buy one of our kits while you're here.
I'm also looking for locally sourced fiber to sell at the shop during our open hours. We currently have Bamboo (not made in the USA, but I buy it from NJ) and Retroglo reflective yarn.
I'd like to be able to offer yarns that have a wide selection of colors (the Bamboo has over 100) that would be great for color work projects, but know that might be hard on the locally sourced. I'd also like to carry more cotton yarn for our weavers...

The Studio? Fiber Rhythm? or The Shop?
Started moving just this last week to the new location for Fiber Rhythm and am trying to decide how to refer to the place-- The Studio? Fiber Rhythm? or The Shop?
Here's a sneak peak... this part of the space looks much like a booth at the weavers conference since mostly you see the cone yarn (Bambu 7 and 12). But it also has the Double Bambu.
Tomorrow I'll unpack the Springy Bambu and the kits that are already put together. You can see the winding area to the right. I'll have two winding areas and there is more room for a sewing area that still needs to be organized. (its behind these boxes). Believe it or not there is a 8 foot by 4 foot cutting table back there!
Here I have room to have the sewing machine and serger, knitting machines (at least one of them), e-spinner and the winding machines all set up. And I'll have room to be able to teach classes in my own space-- I'm really looking forward to that!
Once I am comfortable with where everything is and am keeping up with the online orders, I plan on having regular office hours for those who want to be able to pick out their colors in person.
Pretty exciting! and its withing walking distance (just over a mile) from my house-- and the old studio/sun room.

Seamless Slippers
I created these slippers earlier in the year when I still needed something to warm my feet-- not necessary now that its in the 90s here in Portland! But, you can prepare for the cooler fall and winter with this quick pattern. I used Judy's magic cast on and knit in the round on two circulars to create a slipper that is completely seamless! Crocheted edging at the top with a loop in the back that is a handy place to hold when you slip these puppies on. Hope you like 'em!
